Specify SENCO Fasteners that meet Codes and Standards

National building codes insure that the strength and corrosion resistance requirements for building projects will be met by the specified fastener. The use of code compliant fasteners protects the architect, builder, dealer and contractor from substandard construction performance and possible joint failure. SENCO performs extensive testing with approved laboratories to insure our fasteners are produced to meet all applicable building codes. Some fasteners on the market today do not comply with testing procedures and requirements. These companies report on their packaging that indeed fasteners are code compliant when they are not. SENCO, along with ISANTA (International Staple, Nail and Tool Association) are working hard to educate the distributors and end users of these non-compliant products that they may fail building inspection.

SENCO CODE COMPLIANCE AND STANDARDS

SENCO guarantees that our fasteners meet or exceed the requirements of:
  • International Code Council (ICC formerly known as ICBO, SBCCI, BOCA)
  • NER-272
  • ASTM, ANSI, ASME standards that are referenced in the codes
SENCO guarantees that our fasteners comply with all building codes and standards listed above. Additionally, SENCO requires that our suppliers — mostly steel companies — guarantee consistent performance by mill certification of their material as well as being subjected to SENCO audits of materials.

In many cases, SENCO fasteners exceed requirements. Joint strength is one area. SENCO certifies the power required to pull one of our fasteners from the joint exceeds the strength of the wood/plywood/OSB, etc that it fastens. SENCO specifies appropriate tools for each fastener and our fasteners are Engineered To Fit™ and Guaranteed To Fit™.

SENCO fasteners are manufactured to the nominal diameter specified, not to the low end of the specification. This ensures that SENCO fasteners always meet the intent of the National Design Standard (ANSI/AFPA 2000).

SENCO Galvanized fasteners meet specifications:

  • Galvanized construction staples meet ASTM A641 Class 1 Standard.
  • Galvanized nails meet ASTM B633 standards.
  • Galvanized nails meet ASTM A153 Class D standards.
SENCO Stainless Steel fasteners are made from Type 304 stainless, as specified by the building codes.

Select SENCO DuraSpin screws are covered by a separate ICBO report-ICBO ER 6068-for use in floors and shear walls.

Quality is priceless. At SENCO, Quality is our middle name. We insure our fasteners stand for Consistent, Reliable Performance, and Every Time in Every Box. Demand Quality, Demand SENCO fasteners.
