Senco’s Duraspin® Wins AWFS® Visionary Award for Power Tool Innovation

Senco® Adds to Industry’s Most Comprehensive Auto-Feed Screw Fastening Line-Up

CINCINNATI (July 26, 2013) — Senco® has won a Visionary Award for its next-generation Duraspin auto-feed screw systems at the 2013 Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) Fair in Las Vegas.

The AWFS Visionary Awards recognize innovation and leadership in product development for the woodworking industry. Entries were evaluated in five categories – environmental, ergonomics, safety, innovative technology and productivity.

A panel of judges selected a total of seven winners out of 66 new products submitted by 49 companies. Duraspin took top honors in the power tools category for innovation in productivity.

“Whether you’re installing cabinetry, drywall, subfloor, sheathing, wood or composite decking, or tackling metal to metal applications like roof decking, framing or wall panel construction, Senco’s Duraspin auto-feed screwdrivers increase productivity by at least 30 percent simply by eliminating the need to load and position individual fasteners,” says product manager Mike Desmond.

Senco recently updated the Duraspin line, introducing new corded and 18V Li-ion battery-powered models that can drive 200 to 700 1” to 3” long screws per charge, depending on the substrate. The tools come in one of two application specific speeds – either 2500 RPM or 5000 RPM. Other features include a tool-free screw length adjustment, a locking depth of drive adjustment and a patent-pending corner-fit feed system for better access and screw placement in tight spaces.
