SENCO® Unveils Latest Nailing Tool "First" at IBS: AirFree Nailers Poised to Revolutionize Industry

High performance powered nailing without hoses, cords, gas canisters or compressors!

(CINCINNATI) — SENCO turned the tool industry on its ear when it introduced the world's first pneumatic nailer in 1951. The Cincinnati-based tool pioneer has done it all over again 50 years later with the introduction of its revolutionary SENCO AirFree cordless nailers. The first two AirFree tools were unveiled during the International Builders Show this February in Atlanta.

"These are the tools that contractors and sub-contractors have always wanted," says Charlie Lytle, SENCO's category manager for AirFree. "The AirFree family of tools will revolutionize not only the tool industry, but also the way building professionals approach their jobs from this point forward."

Fast, flexible and easy to use, SENCO AirFree tools represent the next step in the evolution of powered nailing. They are the perfect option for contractors, remodelers and even do-it-yourselfers who need to move quickly around the jobsite without dragging around cords, hoses or compressors.

More than five years in development, the first three SENCO AirFree tools will be introduced in the spring of 2002. The AirFree 25 drives 5/8" — 2-1/8" 18-gauge brads and the AirFree 41 drives 1-1/4" — 2-1/2" 15 gauge finish nails. Both tools will be available in late-March. The AirFree 32 16-gauge finish nailer will hit shelves in late-May.

The heart of the groundbreaking AirFree family is SENCO's patented and powerful battery-powered internal drive mechanics, which eliminates cords, hoses, compressors and gas cartridges. AirFree nailers utilize an innovative flywheel, clutch and belt system to generate the force needed to drive finish nails completely and quickly. And thanks to their highly-engineered design and powerful rechargeable battery packs, SENCO AirFree tools deliver reliable driving performance from the first fastener to the last.

AirFree tools offer high-quality SENCO features, including easy-to-use depth-of-drive control, SENCO's EZ-Clear system, comfort grip, cushioned trigger and a no-mar pad to protect work surfaces. In addition, SENCO AirFree tools are carefully engineered to be among the safest, quietest and most comfortable tools on the market, enabling users to use them all day, every day.

"We want users to know that they're getting proven SENCO performance every time they use an AirFree tool," Lytle says. "Yes, we began developing the AirFree concept to offer users unparalleled simplicity and flexibility, but we were not about to sacrifice performance in the process."

If the heart of AirFree is performance, simplicity is its soul. SENCO's AirFree nailers are perfect "take them anywhere" tools. They are able to complete a wide variety of nailing tasks without costly fuel cells (which generate odor), cumbersome air compressors and hoses or even access to an external power source. There's no clutter on the jobsite, and time-consuming setup is virtually eliminated.

SENCO's AirFree nailers can also save contractors money and time. Thanks to durable design and the elimination of expensive fuel cells, AirFree nailers can save users hundreds of dollars each year in tool-related costs. The sturdy rechargeable battery pack keeps crews moving, enabling SENCO's AirFree nailers to drive as many as 1,000 fasteners between charges. The quick-charger included with each tool gets the battery pack back up and running in only an hour.

Used in conjunction with Genuine Senco Fasteners, SENCO's AirFree nailers offer users outstanding performance, durability and quality in virtually any finish nailing application. All AirFree tools come complete with two batteries, a one-hour charger and rugged carrying case. And each AirFree tool is covered by a full one-year warranty.

"For half a century, SENCO has developed and manufactured outstanding tools that get the job done for our customers," says Lytle. "AirFree is just the latest example of SENCO offering its customers exactly the right tool at exactly the right time."
