SENCO California Applicant Privacy Notice

This California Applicant Privacy Notice (the “Notice”) supplements Kyocera Senco Industrial Tools, Inc. (SENCO) Privacy Policy and tells you how SENCO, our affiliated entities, subsidiaries and joint ventures (referred to as “SENCO” or “we”) may use the personal information that we gather during the job search, application and/or recruiting process for California job applicants.  

This Notice applies regardless of whether you submit such information through the job application functions on the Careers section our website (the “Careers Page”), or we obtain information about you through other means, such as interviews, third party recruiting agencies, or the public domain. 

What types of Personal Information does this Notice cover?

“Personal Information” means information that does or can identify you as an individual and other information we associate with it. This includes the application materials that you voluntarily provide to us, such as:

  • log-in and password
  • name, address, telephone number, email address, other contact information
  • resume, cover letter, previous work experience/history including salary, and educational background and/or results
  • employment preferences, willingness to relocate, desired salary, marital status and family information
  • results of your assessment, if applicable 
  • how you heard about the position, and information relating to references. If you do provide references, you should tell your reference beforehand that you are sharing his information with SENCO
  • any information you provide in communications with us, such as via e-mail or phone

You are free to decide what application materials, if any, you want to share with us. However, if you choose not to submit certain required information, this may limit our ability to consider your candidacy. 

How will Applicant’s Personal Information be used?

SENCO will use your Personal Information as permitted by law, for the following business purposes:

  • to assess your capabilities and qualifications for a job
  • to conduct reference checks
  • to develop questionnaires and interview scenarios
  • to conduct background checks if you are offered a job
  • to create and submit reports as required by law or regulation
  • to contact you about career opportunities

We may also use Personal Information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate for certain essential purposes, including: 

  • to comply with applicable law and legal process
  • to respond to requests from public and government authorities, including public and government authorities outside your country of residence
  • to enforce our terms and conditions
  • to protect our operations or those of our affiliates
  • to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others
  • to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain

If you become an employee of SENCO, your Personal Information will become part of your file and may be used for other employment or work-related purposes.

How does SENCO share your Personal Information?

Your Personal Information will be reviewed by SENCO employees and consultants in order to evaluate your qualifications and experience for existing or future job opportunities with SENCO.

To the extent permitted by law, we may also disclose your Personal Information with the following categories of third parties:

  • to our affiliates for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice
  • to our third-party service providers who provide us with services such as website hosting, data analytics, infrastructure provision, IT services, online recruitment tools, email delivery services, recruiting services, legal services, auditing services and other services
  • to a third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings)
  • in connection with the essential purposes described above (e.g., to comply with legal obligations).


We use physical, technical and administrative measures designed to protect your Personal Information. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of your account with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us in accordance with the “Contacting Us” section below. 

We may delete your application file and resume, at any time, without any reason. Therefore, you should retain your own copy of the Personal Information provided to us.

Note that Federal and state law requires SENCO to retain certain information about candidates applying for jobs within the United States.  

Modifying your Personal Information

To update or change Personal Information that you already have submitted in connection with a specific position, please resubmit your application associated with that job application. We encourage you to promptly update your Personal Information if it changes or is inaccurate, for instance if you move or get a new phone number. 

No Offer of Employment

This Notice does not constitute an offer or promise of employment with respect to any employment position posted or described on the Careers Page or with any third-party services. Our Careers Page and related third party job sites merely provide descriptions of possible roles with SENCO, which should not be interpreted as binding offers, terms or conditions of employment. SENCO may eliminate, modify or change without notice any aspect(s) of the employment positions, compensation, and benefit plans described herein.

Changes to this Notice

We may change this Notice from time to time. You can see when we last updated the Notice by checking in the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Notice. All changes to the Notice are effective as of the date it is posted.
