Senco’s New Finish Nailer Earns Tools of the Trade Magazine’s 2010 Editor’s Choice Award

SENCO

CINCINNATI (May 25, 2010) Senco’s new 15-gauge finish nailer, featuring the company’s revolutionary Fusion technology, is one of 10 new products to earn a 2010 Editor’s Choice Award from Tools of the Trade magazine. The annual program recognizes innovation and leadership in construction tools and accessories.

According to the editors’ statement in the magazine, the companies’ selection is driven by a lot of different factors, but “the one thing they all have in common is their dedication to providing technical solutions to the challenges facing construction pros. There continues to be impressive industry-wide investment in new technologies despite uncertain economic conditions. These 10 new products will bring value to your purchasing decisions, increase your quality and productivity, and improve your efficiency.”

SENCO Finish/Brad Nailers Combine Best of Air, Cordless Technologies

Senco has simplified cordless-nailer operations with its new finish nailers featuring the company’s Fusion technology, which provides instant trigger response.

Rather than rely on fuel cells or flywheels, Fusion technology utilizes pressurized air in a self-contained, closed system that drives the piston down just like in an air-powered nailer. The air is re-pressurized when the motor returns the piston back to the “ready” position after each shot – up to three shots per second and 500 shots per battery charge. They’re equipped with tool-free depth-of-drive and jam-clearing, dry-fire lock-out, safety time-out function, 18-volt lithium-ion batteries with charge indicators, and an LED “headlight”. They also have three-position switches to lock or set the tools to sequential- or bump-fire mode.

At just over 6 lbs. and featuring a robust ¼” aluminum drive cylinder and durable over molding, the ergonomically balanced nailers are nearly 2.5 pounds lighter than competitive models, (thanks in part to the Lithium Iron Phosphate battery), and can be comfortably operated with one hand.

The 15-gauge finish nailer will be available from SENCO dealers nationwide this summer. The 18-gauge brad nailer will be available in the 4th quarter.
